Similar to how you would prepare broccoli, carrots, and other vegetables as a side dish, try this simple way of preparing kohlrabi.
- 4 kohlrabi washed, leaves and stalks removed
- Salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- Olive oil
Cut the kohlrabi into wedges.
Place in a saucepan and add about an inch of water, then salt and pepper.
Cover with a lid, and steam until the kohlrabi is tender, about 10 to 15 minutes.
Drain and toss with parsley and olive oil.
Feel free to stir your own ideas into this dish. When you cook it once, it becomes yours, so personalize it a bit. Add more of an ingredient you like or less of something you don't like. Try substituting one ingredient for another. Remember words have no flavour; you have to add your own!
