Grill Everything Marinade and Methodology

Ingredients

  • 4-5 tbsp olive oil (try Zatoun Fair Trade Olive Oil available with your share!)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • pinch kosher or sea salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 5-10 leaves basil 1/2 finely chopped and 1/2 cut in slivers to top
  • 1 baguette cut in rounds
  • 1/2 cucumber sliced thinly
  • 1 handful cherry toms
  • 1 handful green beans tops and bottoms snapped off
  • Bushgarden Farmstead Nauvoo or Pilgrimmage cheese sliced

Instructions

  1. mix olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and chopped basil

  2. slice the baguette and use a brush or small spatula to spread both sides of each piece of baguette with olive oil mixture

  3. toss the beans, cucumber, and tomatoes in the olive oil and remove

  4. start up the bbq and set out the bread, beans, tomatoes, and cucumber slices - have the cheese sliced and ready

  5. as soon as the bottom of the baguette is crispy, flip and place sliced cheese on toasted side. flip or roll the beans and tomatoes and cucumber. they may be almost done by now.

  6. pull off the tomatoes when they are blistered, and the beans when they have turned bright green, and maybe have a few blackened bits. the cucumbers taste best to me when they have gone a bit like a pickle in colour, and almost translucent.

  7. close the lid of the bbq on the baguettes with cheese for just a bit to help the cheese melt

  8. stack all the tasty grilled things up on a plate and eat in various combinations!
